Alameda church in California is collecting socks to put in care packages for soldiers. Because of their heavy boots, their socks tend to wear out very quickly. Socks may seem like nothing to be excited about, but for some it can make all the difference. The church will be putting these care packages together on September 29th and welcome any donations. If you don’t want to provide socks, they will also take money donations that will go toward sock purchases.
We did a blog post back in March called “Socks for a Cause” where we outlined some of the ways you could donate socks to those in need. Socks are definitely one of those things we take for granted and don’t realize how important they can be. If you want to help out you can read more about the church’s efforts at mercurynews.com.
We sell socks and would encourage you to head on over to Blackandwhitesocks.com and purchase a case of socks for yourself or a donation. We have affordable prices and a variety of socks that everyone can enjoy.
A woman living in the UK was caught stealing 23 pairs of socks. The store manager saw her acting suspiciously and placing items in her bag. She has been sentenced to nine months for a previous offense, and will be given another sentence for this crime. There was actually another situation earlier this year where a man walked naked into a Walmart store and stole a pair of socks. It may seem strange that someone would risk going to jail just to steal socks, right? Are people just crazy or are socks really that tempting? Well, we think socks are pretty awesome, but then again we may be biased.
The thing is, our socks are so affordable that you don’t need to steal them. You don’t even need to drive to the store to get them, all you have to do is go to blackandwhitesocks.com, add the socks you want to your cart, and then check-out. After you receive your new socks put them on and enjoy. It really is that simple. So, don’t go out and steal your socks. Head on over to Black and White socks and get yourself some socks the easy AND legal way.

I found an article from The Sun that states any player from the Fifa league must be sure their shinpad tape matches their socks. Since this rule has been put in place many players are calling it ridiculous since they just want to have fun. It may not seem important, but it goes to show you that it really does matter if your socks match (or in this case, shinpad tape).
You might not be a soccer player, but you probably don’t want to look ridiculous wearing two different pairs of socks at work, right? Black and White socks has been stressing this for such a long time, so whenever we see something like this in the news we always like to share it. If you want to keep wearing your faded or mismatched socks we can’t really stop you, but for everyone else, stop by blackandwhitesocks.com to order some fresh new pairs.
What do you think about this new Fifa rule? Is it understandable or unnecessary?
I recently read an article 6 Olympians Who Don’t Keep Their Medals In a Sock Drawer and thought to myself, “I didn’t really think you would put a medal in there, but I guess it makes sense. After all, it seems people like to hide things in their sock drawers thinking no one will look in there, but really we all know that is a classic hiding spot. I don’t keep anything in there other then my socks, but I’m sure they are some pretty interesting things someone could find if they were to look in people’s drawers. Probably things we’d rather not see. There are much better hiding spots than a sock drawer or under a mattress, so allow me to give you a few suggestions.
- In the fridge or freezer
- In the wall or under the floor boards
- In an empty deodorant container
- Under the dog or cat bed
Now it all depends on what you are hiding. Something big may not work so well in a freezer, but c’mon guys, be more creative than under your mattress or with your socks. And don’t forget where you hid your valuables, that’s never a good thing. Do you have any creative places to hide something? Let us know!

The Olympics are kind of a big deal right? There is so much talent in one place which makes it pretty exciting to watch. To make things even more exciting, did you happen to see Erik Kynard’s crazy socks? If not you can see them in the picture above. Erik Kynard is now an official member of the Olympics representing USA. His former roommate jokes saying Kynard would be a clothes stylist if he weren’t a high jumper. Those socks may be perfect for the Olympics (they do make a bold statement), but of course they aren’t practical for everyday.
